Daar houdt het goede nieuws niet op, want deze editie bevat wel de kristalheldere, digitaal geremasterde versie met THX-geluid die eerder op de Amerikaanse collector\u2019s edition van Elite Entertainment verscheen. De extra\u2019s daarvan, waaronder twee commentaartracks, ontbreken hier.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wel bevat een tweede schijfje de documentaire Reflections on the Living Dead. Het dvd-hoesje rept over een \u2018offici\u00eble documentaire door de makers van de film\u2019. In werkelijkheid betreft het hier de 25th Anniversary Documentary van Thomas Brown en J.R. Bookwalter. Brown en Bookwalter (die laatste kennen we o.a. van zijn \u2018hommage\u2019 DEAD NEXT DOOR) zijn enthousiaste fans, maar geen documentairemakers. Van een doorwrocht, goed gestructureerd geheel is dan ook geen sprake. Het hart van de documentaire is een rondetafelgesprek tussen George Romero, Karl Hardman, Russell Streiner en John Russo, waarin de productie chronologisch wordt besproken. Bookwalter en Brown stond ongetwijfeld een historische ontmoeting voor ogen, maar het gesprek blijft voornamelijk steken in anekdotes. Ook de veelheid aan interviews met andere filmmakers, over de invloed die Romero\u2019s debuutfilm op hen had, doet de documentaire geen goed. Brown en Bookwalter zullen wel in hun nopjes zijn geweest met de medewerking van zoveel bekende genrehelden, zoals Sam Raimi, John Landis en Wes Craven. Maar zitten we nou echt te wachten op wat David DeCoteau en Fred Olen Ray te vertellen hebben? Extra\u2019s **<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Copyright Agnes Tourvel.
